Membership Fee Revenue Up 14% Signals Strategy Success

Costco (COST) continues to see tangible financial results from its ongoing efforts to enhance member benefits. Chief Financial Officer Millerchip noted that the company’s membership fee revenue reached $1.329 billion in the first quarter, representing an increase of $163 million compared with the same period last year—an impressive 14% year-over-year growth.

These figures demonstrate that by retaining existing members while successfully attracting new ones, Costco (COST) has effectively converted service value into actual revenue. The strong growth in membership fee income not only underscores consumers’ willingness to pay for newly introduced benefits, but also provides the company with a stable source of cash flow to support future operations
